Live at Livensa Living Bilbao, study anywhere you like

Bilbao’s universities offer a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and you can either choose a public or private university for your studies. Our Bilbao student residence provides the perfect place to live while you combine your studies with your time at university, a chapter of your life you’ll never forget.

Below are some of the universities that Bilbao has to offer:

CLOSE TO EVERYTHING

Bilbao, the capital of Vizcaya, is one of Spain’s leading lights in terms of architecture; take a stroll through the city centre and you can admire its unique buildings. To get to the city centre, just walk down the estuary bank until you reach the Guggenheim, the Zubizuri bridge and the historic city centre’s narrow pedestrian streets.

The student residence also overlooks the San Mamés stadium, located just over the water; it takes a mere 20 minutes to get there. The stadium district is an area which is famous for its bar scene, especially on match days.

IF YOU LIKE TO GET OUT AND ABOUT

Pintxos are one of Bilbao’s most famous features. In the Siete Calles or Zazpi Kaleak, popularly known as ‘Bilbi’, you’ll find endless bars where you can enjoy a couple of pintxos with your favourite drink. The best student atmosphere can be found here! In Muelle de Ripa, Bilbao’s more modern district, you can enjoy the city’s party scene along the estuary bank. If someone asks if you’d like a zurito, they’re talking about a small glass of beer; if they mention a txikito, it’ll be a small glass of wine. If, instead of tapas, you want to indulge your sweet tooth, try some pastel de arroz or maybe a carolina, a type of meringue cake that’ll have you enjoying every last crumb.

If you’re a fan of architecture, the contemporary Guggenheim Museum is a must-see. It was designed on the banks of the estuary in 1997; ever since, it has been an engine of change in the city.

If you want the best city views, we’d suggest climbing up Arixanda, a mountain from where you can enjoy unparalleled views.
El Getxo is located where the Bilbao estuary joins the sea. If you visit the Puerto Viejo there, you can see narrow, winding streets that speak of its past as a fishing village. A place that is full of charm! The bridge that everyone calls the Puente Colgante, or Hanging Bridge, is actually officially named the Puente Vizcaya.

It connects the Portugalete and Getxo banks of the estuary.
